This Little Light of Mine...
I'm gonna let it shine. No false modesty this time, no apologies or downplaying. (Women are great at that, and I'm no exception.)
I'm announcing my new consulting site, MK Consulting!! This is the primary reason you haven't seen a bunch of kitchen creativity from me lately.
With me writing and my sister (Naomi Cox of Spill Studio fame) designing, we got my site done in less than three months. But it's really been 35 years in the making. 35 years of being in groups, being fascinated by them, and then figuring out I could make a living with that fascination. Most of the journey has been fun and life-giving, but there were some trying moments. Like trying to find a dress for my grad school symposium when I was eight months pregnant. Or all the mistakes I made with my first real client.
The mistakes and trying moments aren't over. The difference now is I'm positive they are worth it. A few years ago, I landed on the vocation I was meant to have, and today feels like the big reveal. This is me! Like the lines Loretta loves to sing with me: Hide it under a bush? OH NO! I'm gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
P.S. I'm shining my sister's light too, whether she wants me to or not. If you or someone you know needs graphic design that will get noticed, she's the ticket.

Amen! Shine on, sister.
Makes me think of the movie, Corina Corina. This Little Light of Mine, I'm gonna let it shine:)
Best Wishes! May it be so, and so it is!
Let it shine Let it shine Let it shine!!!!
I'm the best witness to tell you this girl has been talking group dynamics with her papa as long as she's been toddling around. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And if I don't say so myself, she's darn good.
I need business cards please, ASAP, I know too many people who could benefit greatly by your services. The only problem is they don't know they need it. Maybe that's where handing over the business card would come in handy.
You're capable of convincing anyone of anything. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! a long time coming, and so well deserved!!!
Best wishes for a successful practice.
Great job on the graphics Naomi
We couldn't be any prouder of you if we tried.
Congrats! I can't wait to visit the site and explore. And nice perk to have an amazing talented graphic designer in the family. Looks great.
This is great, Sarah! Between you and your sister of Spill Studio, I'm thinking I'll surely get my IPOL notecards soon!! Loretta, singing "This Little Light of Mine" would, without a doubt, resolve any conflict anywhere. Good thing she's an integral part of your team!
How many places can I congratulate you?! Way to go. You are perfect for this. Thanks for the light on Spill Studio too!
WOW - congratulations. It's so energizing to see a mom carve out the career she wants and obviously take such awesome care of her family. You are an inspiration. Go Sarah go!
It is a lovely site - and very cool work, too. Maybe I'm just used to reading your food blog, but the same voice shines through in your new site - energetic, welcoming, excited. Plus, I loved the color palette of the site, it was very soothing to the eyes. And the layout of the site works well, too.
I know too many people who could benefit greatly by your services. The only problem is they don’t know they need it.
Amen, mfm, amen!!
