On the one day you're home,
the dryer breaks.
You go down after breakfast
with your coffee and tools,
determine there's no quick fix.
So we spend a precious hour
at the appliance store,
comparing features, doing the math,
joking with the saleswoman
(who loves you, as all saleswomen do).
And I know I'd rather be here,
picking out appliances with you,
than drinking mai tais on the beach
with anyone else.
